This course, which is dedicated to maxillofacial surgeons and/or PhD students who are continuing their education in this field, offers the participants a unique opportunity and experience to move their skills to upper levels.
The aim of the course is to provide a practical understanding of the different extraoral surgical approaches used to access the skeletal structures of the maxillofacial region for indications of trauma, tumor, deformity and reconstructive surgery.
PRIMUM NON NOCERE
In this course, in accordance with the principle of “primum non nocere”, we learn the maxillofacial anatomy in depth, by seeing, touching, feeling the structures, to offer healing without harming our patients.
In order to become more confident surgeons, you will learn different techniques and approaches from one of most experienced names in this field, Dr. Mustafa Sancar Ataç.
In addition to standard procedures, tips and tricks for dealing with complications will be shared by our teachers throughout the course.
PRACTICAL & THEORETICAL SESSIONS
After a very short theoretical introduction of the surgical procedure by the lecturers you can monitor the live surgery on the flat screen close to you. You accompany each detail in “real time”, simulating a close 1:1 reality on your “patient”.
After the teaching and the instruction you will perform the surgical training on the fresh skull, guided by us, step by step. Two doctors are assigned to one fresh (not embalmed) skull, a well trained team is always around you to help and assist.
